The training approach for static security operations will be the same as that provided for transportation security personnel however the standard, full training package is a 2 week program. Static Security training includes:

First Person on Scene 3-5 day basic or intermediate program
The course can be modified for the needs of customer and tailored with different scenario based exercises.
The FPOS and Emergency Medic (including Hostile Environments) is aligned to the UK Institute of Health Care Development (IHCD) First Person on Scene (Intermediate) course.

Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) Course 2-5 day program
The HEAT course is designed to increase the awareness of personal security which gives the student the general knowledge how to prevent and avoid various critical situations being in the crisis environment. The programme of the course has been developed by the security personnel with comprehensive and extensive professional experience from most of the current crisis areas around the world. The course includes theoretical lectures as well as practical, different scenario based exercises.
Learning objectives
All the learning objectives have strong basic aim - how to provide realistic tools and knowledge to avoid getting into a dangerous situations. Such situations could be being present at an IED explosion, direct or indirect small arms fire and as well as any non-hostile incident which might appear more often on crisis areas like fire safety, traffic accident or medical incident.

Course Specification
Unit 1: First Aid (core unit) Learning Outcomes
The learner will:
- Understand the principles of first aid
- Be able to assess an incident
- Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing
normally
- Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not
breathing normally
- Be able to manage a casualty with external bleeding
- Be able to manage a casualty who is in shock
- Be able to carry out basic user maintenance and troubleshoot
problems with an automated external defibrillator
- Understand the safe use of an automated external
defibrillator
Unit 2: Personal Security and Risk Assessment (core unit) Learning Outcomes
The learner will:
- Understand the principles personal security
- Be able to assess and manage risk to personal security
- Be able to conduct anti surveillance surveillance
- Be able to avoid or reduce risk of kidnapping
- Be able to manage conduct at the point of capture
- Be able to manage conduct after capture
Unit 3: Active Shooter (Specialist Unit)
Learning Outcomes
The learner will:
- Understand the active shooter
- Be able to assess and manage own conduct in active shooter
situations
Unit 4: Vehicle and Convoy (Specialist Unit)
Learning Outcomes
The learner will:
- Understand the principles of personal security whilst in a
vehicle
- Be able to plan and navigate journeys within own
environments
- Non-technological methods of route planning
Assessment Guidance
The assessment for this unit can be completed via simulation.
Evidence Requirements
The assessment of all units must include both practical demonstration/assignment and oral examination.
